Louisville, Ky. — April 4
SHPS, a provider of health advocacy and health benefit solutions, has announced that its health management division landed Alabama as its newest government agency client.
Alabama’s State Employees’ Insurance Board retained SHPS for integrated health advocacy services, including disease management, utilization management, case management and a 24-hour nurse line.
SHPS health advocacy is a coordinated set of solutions designed to assist employees with all issues, conditions and decisions relating to their personal health.
A knowledgeable health “advocate” provides a single point of access to all programs and services available to the employee, maximizing individual health benefits while minimizing health risks.
“Our health advocacy solutions have a direct impact on an employer’s ability to manage health care costs,” said Reed Keller, SHPS president of health management solutions. “The integration aligns health services to best meet an individual’s needs, maximizes employee education, modifies behavioral risk and ultimately delivers the appropriate level of care.
“This not only drives down health risks for the entire employee population, but it also helps clients like the State of Alabama contain overall healthcare costs.”
SHPS provides its health advocacy solutions to federal, state and local government employers, as well as many of the nation’s leading employers, including 97 Fortune 1000 companies.
“SHPS is honored to have Alabama join our client roster,” Keller said. “By executing their health advocacy programs through our coordinated set of solutions, they are providing their employees a single point of access to a wealth of resources designed to improve their health.
“It demonstrates a commitment to healthier employees, as well as a commitment to better health care management as an organization.”
