Colorado Springs, Colo., Sept. 28, 2009 – The sold-out Fall 2009 Chief Learning Officer Magazine Symposium, with the theme Peak Performance: Pushing Your Enterprise to the Top, was opened today by Peter Vidmar, Chairman, USA Gymnastics. During his keynote address, titled “Motivation for Performance: Risk, Originality and Virtuosity,” he explored ways attendees could convert Olympic gold into corporate wisdom.
With the use of a pommel horse, Vidmar demonstrated the principles of risk, originality and virtuosity and how these requirements, when added up, equal a perfect 10 both in business and in life. During his presentation, he shared his fresh perspective on how CLOs can deliver higher levels of performance by using creativity to separate themselves from the competition and perfecting skills on a daily basis. Vidmar reminded attendees, “If you want to be at your best when it really matters, you've got to be at your best when it doesn't matter.”
