Entrepreneur and author Gary Vaynerchuk kicked off the Fall 2012 Chief Learning Officer Magazine Symposium by applying the principles of his best-selling book The Thank You Economy to the current business environment and the rise of social media.
Based on his own experiences as a business owner, Vaynerchuk’s book focuses on the “humanization” of business, in which victories are measured by how much an organization cares about its people. In the Symposium’s opening keynote presentation, Vaynerchuk shared how enterprises that emphasize quality, value, responsiveness and attention to detail see the biggest returns in today’s competitive climate. Then the co-founder of VaynerMedia discussed the emergence of social media as a unique opportunity for companies to listen and engage with everyone in the conversation and show employees, as well as customers, just how important they are.
Named the Best Leadership Development Event in 2011 by Leadership Excellence magazine, the CLO Symposium is one of the premier conferences for workforce development professionals. The three-day event, being held Sept. 19-21 at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo., attracts chief learning officers, corporate executives, human capital management experts and learning practitioners from around the world who are eager to explore new technologies and techniques for making employee education more effective.
