The field of eLearning continues to grow and evolve at a rapid pace. Both facilitators of learning and recipients have recognized the benefits and pitfalls of this modality for acquiring knowledge. When dealing specifically with adult learners, focusing on andragogy (Knowles, 1984), we have learned that adults need to be as equally engaged online as they are in the traditional classroom (Gagne, Briggs & Wager, 1992). Similar to the facetoface classroom, online engagement can be achieved through the delivery of instructionally sound content that offers theoretical constructs and “real world” application.
