Because of services like Twitter and Plurk, micro-blogging is all the rage, even in the corporate world. According to a TechNewsWorld article, affinity groups, professional interest communities and companies themselves are following the trend.!@!
As illustrated by Patricia Michalski’s story, micro-blogging may be the next generation of learning. It’s a way for employees to get on-the-job information quickly. And when you follow a certain micro-blog, you can get “tweets” when it has been updated, similar to Google Alerts.
