SUMMARY:How Will Content Change the Learning Landscape?
DESCRIPTION:Recent research from Bersin suggests that workers are overwhelmed and have less time to learn. Specifically\, 1% of the typical workweek is all that employees have to focus on training and development. LinkedIn’s 2018 Workplace Learning Report tells us that getting employees to make time for learning is the number one challenge for talent development in 2018. Therefore\, learning content and how to effectively and efficiently deploy it to the workforce has triggered considerable debate in the learning industry. \nJoin Brett Wilson\, Director of Thought Leadership & Strategy at Cornerstone\, for an interview with Elliott Masie\, founder of the Masie Center and chair of the Learning Consortium. During this webinar\, we will hear Elliott’s thoughts about learning content challenges and opportunities and hear what learning leaders can do to best position their organizations for success in the future\, ultimately answering the question\, how will content change the learning landscape?

SUMMARY:The Imperative to Build a Resilient and Agile Organization—One Mindset at a Time
DESCRIPTION:“Resiliency” and “Agility” are so often discussed yet rarely understood in the context of implementing these skills within organizations. Companies increasingly recognize the need to evolve the organization in order to grow or at least keep pace in a climate where innovation is critical to success—or even survival. But your people don’t know how to unlock their potential. \n  \nWhy? Human brains aren’t naturally wired to deal with or initiate change. Our cognitive biases hold us back from adapting to the most common disruptions thrust upon us. They also stop us from inciting the kind of innovative thought that ultimately benefits our organizations and ourselves. \n  \nThese facts of nature are in direct conflict with the realities of your business needs\, aren’t they? \n  \nFortunately\, research has proven we can retrain our brains to be more Resilient and Agile at any age and stage in our career. Join Dr. Casey Mulqueen and David Collins\, two behavioral learning experts who’ve helped people develop Adaptive Mindsets all around the world\, as they share with you: \n  \n\nWhat it means to be Resilient and Agile and why it’s critical to develop these skills\nStrategies to change individuals’ behavior to positively impact the entire organization\nHow other companies have employed successful Resiliency and Agility training\n\n

SUMMARY:Lessons Learned from Adobe’s Performance Management Revolution
DESCRIPTION:Adobe Systems’ successful business transformation to a cloud-based business with a subscription model required significant shifts in infrastructure\, mindsets and practices. Listening deeply to leaders\, managers and employees\, Adobe’s employee experience team abolished the annual performance review process for a light-weight performance management approach that provided more flexibility in a fast-paced environment. Adobe’s approach\, called Check-in\, removed complexity and bureaucracy that didn’t serve the business but focused on the “critical few” activities that supported business growth. This wasn’t just a process change but a different level of engagement from leaders\, managers and employees with a greater sense of ownership and responsibility. \nAngela Szymusiak will share the underlying philosophies behind the design\, how Adobe integrated Check-in into its people practices and the change management strategies used for a successful implementation

SUMMARY:Shadow a Leader - An Innovative Capstone Approach for your HIPO Leadership Development Program
DESCRIPTION:Challenge: Previously\, at the conclusion of our leadership development program\, participants were assigned to a group “capstone project.” After several cohorts of project work\, we reassessed the pros and cons of the capstone approach and developed a brand-new approach titled “Shadow a Leader.” \nShadow a Leader: In addition to the employee coach each participant worked with throughout the 12-month program\, each participant was assigned to a current leader who they “shadowed” for 3 months. The positive results were multifaceted for the participants\, the coaches and the “shadowed” leaders: \n\nParticipants were able to immediately apply the learnings from the program in “real world” company dynamics.\nParticipants who then became managers reported that they got up to speed much more quickly than those who had not gone through the program.\nThe coaches reported that they learned just as much as the participants and both coaches and “shadowed” leaders felt reinvigorated as leaders. The program increased their own engagement with our organization.\nFinally\, as each new cohort progresses through the program\, there are many more executives sharing “ownership” in the program.\n\nIn this session\, attendees will discover: \n\nA simple road map to incorporate the “Shadow a Leader” into their own Leadership Development Program.\nA list of questions that participants had to answer during their “Shadow a Leader” experience.\nA template for the final presentation on the experience the cohort delivered to the senior leadership team.\nCapstone ideas from other participants on the webinar.

SUMMARY:The ROI Dilemma: Measuring Results of your Learning Programs
DESCRIPTION:Significant resources are being allocated to training and development across most organizations\, but many companies still find themselves unsure of results. The return on investment formula is a financial calculation\, but learning is a human behavior and needs a human calculation. L&D can’t prove ROI using the same methods other parts of the business do. So how can L&D professionals prove investments in employee development actually produce results? \n  \nIn this webcast Karen Hebert-Maccaro\, Chief Content Officer at O’Reilly will: \n  \n\nExplain why ROI needs to be redefined for learning initiatives and the narrative shifted  from causation to correlation\nDiscuss how to correlate learner engagement with other important organization metrics to tell an important story about the value of L&D investments\nShow you how to leverage Kirkpatrick’s model of assessment and create a targeted strategy around level three and four assessments.\nProvide guidance on how to talk with your business leaders and other stakeholders about learning and argue “table stakes not sweepstakes”.

SUMMARY:Becoming a Partner to the Business: How Beachbody Built the Business Case for Learning Initiatives
DESCRIPTION:We know learning happens across different systems and devices\, between people\, and in the real world. We also know weaving it all together into a seamless learning experience takes some work:  new system functionality with L&D\, HR and IT teams working together. \nAs L&D leaders\, how can we effectively convince and then work with other business leads to overcome organizational challenges? \nThe good news is the financial support is there: 70% of CHROs are investing in technologies to help them move faster (PWC Technology Survey in 2017). \nThe even better news is Beachbody has been successful in partnering L&D to the business and they will be on our May webinar to show just how they did it.

SUMMARY:Creating Valuable Learning Experiences
DESCRIPTION:The role of the customer\, in this case the learner\, has changed from isolated to connected\, from unaware to informed\, from passive to active\, and everything has become experience driven. As a result\, business\, technology\, marketing and design strategies must be aligned and focused on the overall experience to drive innovation forward. \nBy 2020\, experience will overtake price and product as the key differentiator. The experience is about the entire ecosystem from how people discover products or services well beyond single interactions across touchpoints. Creating experiences people love requires a shift in traditional thinking. Companies can no longer rely on customer loyalty or market share as primary drivers for customers to purchase their products. \nRecognizing this opportunity\, Andy Vitale\, director of user experience at Polaris Industries\, will address how to create experiences that empower the learners that engage with them\, the teams that build them\, and the businesses that provide them. Drawing from his experience\, he will share insights and tactics to craft experiences that provide value and a measurable business impact. \nAttendees will learn to: \n\nIdentify what makes an experience valuable.\nUnderstand how to provide increased value to your audience.\nLeverage KPIs to measure the value of an experience.

SUMMARY:Surviving the New Skills Economy
DESCRIPTION:The world has changed and the next industrial revolution has arrived.  According to the World Economic Forum\, we have entered the 4th Industrial Revolution\, in which technology has been and will continue to be embedded into society in ways that involve and require entirely new capabilities for people and machines. Technology has also destroyed the staying power of traditional companies\, reducing their average lifespan by two thirds since 1950\, and moving the majority of their assets from tangible products to intangible assets\, comprised of people and intellectual property.  In short\, this means that in this new digital age\, skills have become the new currency\, and data is the oil that fuels our transactions. \nJoin Brett Wilson\, Cornerstone’s Director of Thought Leadership and Strategy\, as he discusses the implications of the global skills crisis and how we manage talent over the next five years as it will be completely different from the last twenty years.  This crisis will force a new set of expectations for a modern workforce.  A subsequent issue suggests that every job is changing requiring the best companies to reinvent themselves to meet the challenge. \nGiven all of these challenges\, Mr. Wilson will put forth a four-pronged strategy that will consist of the following principals: \n\nCreate lifelong learning experiences\nMake recruiting a competitive advantage\nPersonalize talent management processes\nBring context and intelligence to HR decisions

SUMMARY:CLO Symposium 2018
DESCRIPTION:Reimagining the Learning Experience\n\n\nFew would argue that corporate learning is radically different now than even a decade ago. The unstoppable advance of technology and globalization continue to transform it from a stand-alone\, discrete conduit for imparting knowledge into an integral force for innovation. \nThese changes alter the content\, context and mechanisms of learning but also the experience of learning itself — how people learn\, when they learn\, what they expect and want and why. \nSmart CLOs realize the need to reimagine learning if they hope to deliver the results required with simplicity\, elegance and accuracy. \nAt the Spring 2018 CLO Symposium\, we’ll examine the forces driving corporate educators to adapt the learning experience and explore the most effective ways to remain relevant in this rapidly changing environment.
