SUMMARY:The Leadership Development Dilemma
DESCRIPTION:Despite enjoying one of the most highly-educated workforces in history\, today’s organizations are struggling with a common challenge: how do we develop the leaders of tomorrow? When only 14 percent of current CEOs believe they have the talent necessary to execute their business strategies\, it’s clear the problem is widespread. And this begs the obvious question: What does the leader of the future look like? And\, more pointedly\, why are organizations having such a difficult time developing them? \nJoin Chief Learning Officer and Damian Vaughn\, chief programs officer at BetterUp\, for a robust evidence-based discussion on the leadership development dilemma. We’ll explore the question of whether L&D as we know it is ill-equipped to develop leaders who can navigate these disruptive times. You’ll hear what new human skills are in hot demand and set to redefine the leader landscape. And we’ll also consider whether a fundamental shift in the way we think about learning and development itself is required to respond to both the current disruptive marketplace and the needs\, expectations\, and abilities of the modern employee. \nYou’ll come away from this webinar with a better understanding of:\n•	Why the disrupted workplace requires a fundamentally new type of leader\n•	What skills most leaders lack that are critical for navigating change\n•	Where most leadership programs fall short\, and exciting research-based alternatives\n•	Why tomorrow’s leaders must be developed\, not just trained—and what the difference is\n•	The benefits of coaching versus training\, and compelling results of recent research

SUMMARY:How to Adopt a Servant Leadership Mindset at Your Organization
DESCRIPTION:In most organizations\, the leaders are the ones that hold the power. Their leadership style resembles one of a traditional hierarchy\, where the leaders sit on a pedestal while making commands\, have the control\, and demand certain outcomes from their employees. Servant leaders are disrupting this traditional style of leading by putting the employees first\, and research is finding that this disruption of the leadership status quo has many benefits.\nJoin Libby Powers from BizLibrary\, as she explains the positive outcomes of leading from last. Adopting a servant leadership mindset will not only improve the leadership skills of the person who leads\, but the whole organization will flourish with improvements in common business challenges like employee engagement and retention.\nIn this webinar\, you’ll learn:\n–	The qualities of a servant leader\n–	How to transform command-control leadership into a serve-first mindset\n–	Why companies need more servant leaders

SUMMARY:Solve the Employee Engagement Challenge: Build a Coaching Culture
DESCRIPTION:As more companies look to build leadership capacity and better engage their people\, coaching cultures are becoming a hot topic of conversation. And with good reason—companies with coaching cultures are more than twice as likely to be classified as high-performing organizations and outperform their peers in internal mobility\, bench strength and retention.\nBut even though research shows how crucial employee engagement is to the success of a business\, many companies still struggle with how to make it happen. To truly leverage the power of coaching within your organization\, it must become an integral part of your company’s DNA—moving beyond something your people do to become something that defines who your leaders are.\nPulling from nearly 25 years of experience coaching top-performing organizations and leaders\, Daniel Harkavy\, CEO/Founder of Building Champions will walk you through a process to build a scalable and sustainable coaching culture that will drive long-term engagement and deliver extraordinary results.\nAt the end of this webinar\, you will be able to:\n•	Define what a coaching culture is\n•	Identify the key steps needed to build a coaching culture\n•	Construct an actionable plan to improve your coaching culture

SUMMARY:How to Create a Culture of Engagement
DESCRIPTION:The world of work is changing rapidly. Employees are demanding more learning and development opportunities that are engaging\, easy to consume and available on-demand—when and where the they want it. Organizations are finding that recruiting and keeping employees is a growing challenge and are investing in learning and development programs to attract and retain workers. However\, even with an increase in the availability of on-demand\, easy to consume learning\, many employees still are not engaging with it. This isn’t simply an ‘If you build it\, they will come’ situation. Without attention to creating appealing and engaging learning opportunities within a modern learning culture\, that organizational investment is likely to fall very short of its potential. \nIn this webinar\, tactics will be presented to help you:\no	Get insights to determine if your employees are engaged\no	Embed learning into organizational culture to drive employee engagement\no	Design learner-centric programs that put your employees in the driver’s seat of their professional development

SUMMARY:Harnessing Human Capital — The Intersection and Alignment of Strategies Around Business\, Talent Management and L&D
DESCRIPTION:In this session\, the presenter will provide insights into how best to align three strategic functions within every organization: attracting\, developing and deploying talent in ways that progress the organization’s mission and help it achieve its objectives. During the webinar we will take a pragmatic look at how partnering across an organization can create greater synergy in each of these strategic functions and align the activities to complement one another in reaching strategic goals. No matter if your organization is decentralized or centralized in its approach for attracting\, developing and deploying talent effectively\, the concepts discussed can be utilized in any structure. L&D functions have struggled for so long with determining how to show impact to their organizations\, and through this session we will work to bring the “how” into greater focus.

SUMMARY:The Skills Currency: Unlocking Internal Mobility With Real Skills Data
DESCRIPTION:Employers want and need employees with certain skills to stay relevant and competitive. Employees don’t have them. Why? And What can organizations do to future proof their teams and ultimately their company? External hiring is usually the first place organizations look\, but it’s time consuming and expensive. There is power in devoting time to internally solving the skills gap. Benefits include a more skilled and competitive workforce\, and employees with longer tenure. Successful CLOs realize that their employees are a competitive advantage\, and they deserve the same (if not higher) investment than what we put into our products. So what can you do? For starters\, begin looking for ways to measure your people’s skill-sets so you know where gaps exist. Join us for this webinar to learn more. \nIn this webinar:\n1. Understand the symptoms of misplaced skills in your company and the labor market at large\n2. Understand the business case for correcting misplaced skills in your company\n3. Learn a framework for putting the right skills in the right place at the right time through talent management and upskill plans that align to company objectives

SUMMARY:Transforming the Learner’s Landscape
DESCRIPTION:Learning and Development has become far too focused on the volume and arrangement of content instead of its value for learners. As we continue to shift to a demand-driven environment\, relevance is ultimately decided by the learner —not the L&D teams. Successful learning organizations develop systems that promote relevance and design learning with an experience-mindset. \nIn this webinar Matt Donovan\, Vice President of Global Digital Learning Strategies & Solutions will explore: \n•	Re-envisioning learning strategies through the learner-centric lens\n•	Innovation as the catalyst to assess the current state of your workplace against the desired future state of the learning experience\n•	The organizational features and architecture required to achieve long-term results

SUMMARY:The Digital Transformation of the Learning Function
DESCRIPTION:When the speed of employee learning needs to keep pace with the digital transformation of organizations large and small\, the solutions are far from obvious. Digital transformation is changing the learning and development function and the role of the CLO. It is as much about strategy and culture as it is about technology. So how does the learning and development function enable successful market and organizational change in the digital era? This webinar will focus on three core areas of technological and functional change for L&D: how to facilitate organizational change with cross functional collaboration; how to create learning experiences using AI; and design thinking and agile approaches and how to avoid common pitfalls. The speakers\, Amy Loomis and Robert Burnside\, bring direct experience from their years of work in the industry and through current consulting engagements. Loomis led the development and instantiation of IBM’s Think Academy and Burnside was Ketchum’s CLO. Join them in a conversation on how L&D can build resilient organizations that are well equipped to navigate the demands of work in the digital era. \nL&D Challenges in the Digital Age:\nOrganizations including newly funded startups and large corporations struggle to find a balance between the learning and development needs of the organization and those of employees who want to be more effective. How do they create\, curate and deliver the right experiences in time and on budget? How do we meet business goals\, personal goals and find the right measures to ensure we are doing so effectively and efficiently? This isn’t simply a matter of cutting through the clutter of myriad leadership development courses\, social media links or compliance training. It’s a matter of developing learning pathways that are purpose built to enable skills that are linked to professional and personal progress. It’s as much about what NOT to learn and how to build sequentially on foundational knowledge. \nSolutions That Work:\nWhile different industries need different flavors of digital learning — more or less focused on compliance\, in-person experiences or specific skills — the core principles for finding a solution are common:\n•	Digital learning platforms must include a feedback loop that takes into account learner input in building and adapting the learning experience. This can be in real time or over time but it’s essential.\n•	Digital learning experience must be sponsored as a core business initiative from the top down\, not just a functional nice-to-have perk to refine leadership\, ensure compliance or improve skills.\n•	Digital learning programs cannot be one-size-fits-all. Each organization needs to balance in-person with digital learning experiences that are appropriately mapped by role\, geography\, culture and desired outcome. For example\, deep technical training such as learning a new programming language works best via online modules while subjects that require nuanced application and buy-in like business strategy are best taught face to face. \nDeploying artificial intelligence within a digital experience can facilitate the above solutions. Organizations that focus on this now and implement state-of-the-art AI in learning solutions will jump ahead of competitors who are relying only on traditional L&D programs. \nWhy AI Matters: Examples From the field:\nNew technology\, skills and roles development are emerging far faster than traditional HR programs can keep up — either in creating content or scheduling traditional training sessions. No sooner has one program been fully executed than the next needs to be deployed. Additionally\, organizations themselves are under pressure to adapt to the digital transformation of their services; it is a “do or die” moment — either one adapts or one goes the way of companies like Kodak. Examples of successful implementations of doing this kind of new AI-enabled learning solution include IBM’s Think Academy and Ketchum’s Race to Make It Real initiative. \nKey Takeaways:\nAnyone in the learning and development field will take away the following key points: \n1.	Digital learning is a team sport that includes cross-functional support from other functions such as communication\, marketing and IT.\n2.	The key to building engaging programs is to lay out the navigation pathways for goal-based learning that connects personal and strategic business needs for growth.\n3.	Successful L&D programs are led in the context of a broader organizational framework that foster and reward continuous learning and sharing of knowledge.\n4.	All of the above depend on understanding of AI technology and how it can enable learning that meets the challenge of the future.

SUMMARY:Shadow a Leader - An Innovative Capstone Approach for your HIPO Leadership Development Program
DESCRIPTION:Challenge: Previously\, at the conclusion of our leadership development program\, participants were assigned to a group “capstone project.” After several cohorts of project work\, we reassessed the pros and cons of the capstone approach and developed a brand-new approach titled “Shadow a Leader.” \nShadow a Leader: In addition to the employee coach each participant worked with throughout the 12-month program\, each participant was assigned to a current leader who they “shadowed” for 3 months. The positive results were multifaceted for the participants\, the coaches and the “shadowed” leaders: \n\nParticipants were able to immediately apply the learnings from the program in “real world” company dynamics.\nParticipants who then became managers reported that they got up to speed much more quickly than those who had not gone through the program.\nThe coaches reported that they learned just as much as the participants and both coaches and “shadowed” leaders felt reinvigorated as leaders. The program increased their own engagement with our organization.\nFinally\, as each new cohort progresses through the program\, there are many more executives sharing “ownership” in the program.\n\nIn this session\, attendees will discover: \n\nA simple road map to incorporate the “Shadow a Leader” into their own Leadership Development Program.\nA list of questions that participants had to answer during their “Shadow a Leader” experience.\nA template for the final presentation on the experience the cohort delivered to the senior leadership team.\nCapstone ideas from other participants on the webinar.
